Recent Evidence on Acute Kidney Injury in COVID-19 Patients: A Narrative Review

The pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2). clinical manifestation COVID-19 is broad, ranging from an asymptomatic carrier state to leading death penalty. There also emerging evidence that kidneys are affected early in COVID-19. Proteinuria and haematuria have been reported 44% 26.7% on admission, respectively. This literature review shows manifestations kidney injury (AKI) a patient with infection. Literature reviews carried out various sources found Google Scholar Pubmed search for articles, journal research, case reports, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, textbooks. Various studies demonstrate possibility infecting several mechanisms such as cytokine storm (CSS), direct viral infection, imbalance renin-angiotensin-aldosterone (RAAS). Haematuria proteinuria associated higher mortality may signify aggressive early. Thus all patients should baseline urinalysis. number different causes AKI COVID-19, some which affects remain unclear.
